Coming back to life

Posted by Frank Schoep on 24th June, 2005 at 22:02

After a period of silence I'm glad to announce that Forever For Now is back. Of course there is more to the comeback than this single statement, see for yourself.

As you might have noticed this website went semi-blank during the last few weeks. A quick message had been posted with a letter of thanks to the crew who were obviously a major help in keeping the website alive in the past. Previously, this website was used as a cooperative blogging effort to keep eachother informed and more importantly, entertained.

The time of inevitable change has come and I intend to get this website to function as a place for my pet projects, articles and reviews of software. It will be kind of interesting to watch how things flesh out, but I'm quite enthousiastic to get things rolling.

The past few months, during the apparent downtime, I spent a lot of time working together with the Website Baker community to adapt their product to match my needs. Yesterday, Ryan Djurovic released the 2.5.2 version of Website Baker which I could conveniently merge into my private source branch, soon available for download under the name "Fools Gold."

The technical side of Forever For Now, or FFN for short, is in place. I have worked many hours to get the content ready and I think I'll manage to get many interesting things on the site in the next weeks. Most notable inclusion will be Glacier, a software firewall solution written in the JAVA programming language. Other things will include projects I've done in the past.

I hope that the new content will attract a wider audience, let me thank you in the first place for visiting at the beginning of a new FFN.
